CRC Lingo and Culture

ACM: Short for All College Meeting. A weekly meeting every Sunday in the main lounge during which we discuss dorm events, dress up in costumes, and win prizes.

CA: Community Assistant (same thing as RA's at other colleges). We have two! One lives on the first floor and the other on the third floor.

"CRC What?!": Bellowed by many for dorm spirit.

Dingle: In the situation that your roommate leaves, you now own the best commodity
known to man--a dingle (double single).

Dormcest: Engaging in private conversations with a special friend who also lives in the dorm.

Fireside: Cool people come and talk to us about interesting subjects. Students also host firesides on topics that interest them. Have an idea for a fireside? Email the academic chairs Nathalie or Cassi.

Hinman: Where we eat our food, located across the street at...1835 Hinman.  Bigger packages sent to you will also be picked up here.

Illumihinman: Top secret, super special event at the end of the year!

IM Sports: Fall sports: Dodgeball, Football, & Volleyball. Winter sports: Basketball & Floor Hockey. Spring sports: Soccer, Softball, & Ultimate Frisbee.

KTBOLT: Each week during the ACM, the Kicking The Ball Of Life Trophy is given to someone extraordinary / someone who had something extraordinarily terrible happen to them the previous week.

Listserv: A dorm-wide email system through which everyone will receive a message sent.

Munchies: An all dorm food-fest. Past themes include: Cinco de Mayo, Roger Boye (our dorm master) Reads Us Childrens Books While We Eat PB&J and Drink Milk, catered muchies with fancy food, and so much more deliciousness.

Non-Res: Someone who doesn't live in the building anymore, but comes to events and is still involved with the dorm.

Panquake: Top secret, super special event at the beginning of the year!

Points: You need them to get a good room in the dorm next year. You get points by
attending ACMs, dorm events, and by performing philanthropy.

Prospie: Prospective student. Maybe you're one right now!

Radiothon: A fundraiser at the end of fall quarter benefiting the American Heart
Assosciation through a 48-hour radio marathon. Hilarity ensues.

Recog: Watch movies in the screening room and get points!

WXRU: Our dorm's very own radio station.
